ScreenRewards ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting the privacy of families who use our app. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it. By using ScreenRewards, you agree to the practices described here.
Information We Collect
We collect only what is necessary to provide the service:
- Parent account information: Your name and email address, provided via Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google. We receive only the information those providers share with us.
- Child profile information: A display name chosen by the parent when setting up a child's account. Children do not provide personal information directly — they join using a 6-digit invite code generated by the parent.
- Chore and usage data: Chore definitions, completion records, and screen-time balance data needed to operate the app.
- Waitlist email: If you sign up on our website before launch, we store your email address solely to notify you when the app is available.
We do not collect passwords. Authentication is handled entirely by Apple or Google on your device.
How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your family account and profiles.
- To sync chore completions and screen-time balances across devices in real time.
- To send approval notifications to parents when a child marks a chore complete.
- To send a one-time launch announcement to waitlist subscribers.
We do not use your data for advertising, sell it to third parties, or use it for any purpose beyond operating and improving ScreenRewards.
Children's Privacy
ScreenRewards is designed for family use. Child profiles are created and managed entirely by a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. All access to a child's data is controlled through the parent's account.
Parents may delete their family account and all associated data at any time by contacting us at sampath@dassanayake.name.
Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on secure servers. We use industry-standard encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest. Authentication tokens are stored in platform secure storage (iOS Keychain / Android EncryptedSharedPreferences) and never on our servers.
Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time. Waitlist emails are deleted promptly after the launch announcement is sent.
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate ScreenRewards:
- Sign in with Apple — authentication for parent accounts on iOS. Apple's privacy policy applies.
- Sign in with Google — authentication for parent accounts on Android. Google's privacy policy applies.
We do not integrate third-party advertising SDKs or analytics platforms that track users across apps.
Your Rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you. To exercise these rights, contact us at sampath@dassanayake.name. We will respond within 30 days.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
